I had conversation with my longtime friend, the *gagaku* performer Mr. Hideki Togi. It was truly enriching discussion about the distinctive characteristics of Japanese culture, which trace their roots back to the Asuka period. Please look forward to the January issue of *Geijutsu Shincho*.

I held a lecture with lyricist, Mr. Yasushi Akimoto, who serves as a visiting professor at Ritsumeikan University. We are close friends of 40 years, we entered into this discussion without any prior planning—yet, it turned out to be a truly rewarding session.

The work is displayed in the entrance lobby of the administrative office at Izumo Taisha Shrine. It is a large-scale, square piece.

I created a mural for the new gymnasium at Tamagawa Gakuen (Tamagawa Academy and University). I visited the Otsuka Omi Shigaraki factory alongside Mr. Yoshiaki Obara, Chairman of the Board of Tamagawa Gakuen, to inspect the work before its delivery.

To mark its 20th anniversary, the Koyodo Museum of Art in Nagano Prefecture held an open-call exhibition, culminating in an awards ceremony. The Grand Prize was awarded to Mr. Chen Pohsin, an artist from Taiwan. I was truly struck by the work. The exhibition will be on display until the end of November; if you happen to be in Chino City, I highly recommend a visit.
