The pond in Ise Jingu has left a great impression on me.  Based on this image, I have created waterfalls that fall into this pond in the forest.

What is different from my previous waterfall pieces, is that this time I've brought in the idea, Yaorozu no Kami, or, infinite devine spirits, to express a multi-forcal view of a world without linear perspective.

I am continuing to work on my pieces for the two-person show "Sayume Okuda and Hiroshi Senju" at Seigado-Natsume this winter.  I'm selecting antique fabric curated to my work.  The Japanese fabrics will be from Edo period.  I am considering using Chinese and Indian fabric that correspond to that same period.

As I am working on the pieces, I am also thinking about the balance between the fabric and the work.  Here, I am holding up the pieces to the fabric. The antique fabrics that I am using will be just an ordinary rag.  But by incorporating it into the work, it is given new life.
